My Mission
Let's face it, research throws a lot your way. Long hours, complex experiments, and the ever-present pressure to publish. But for me, the biggest surprise wasn't the workload – it was the price tag. As a UofT Cell and Systems biology grad student, I spent a lot of time placing lab supply orders. Every time I saw those numbers, my jaw would hit the floor.
Coming from a background heavily focused on molecular biology, I knew the importance of quality equipment. Yet, the options felt limited, and the prices downright astronomical. It seemed like our busy schedules and the specific demands of biological research made us easy targets for price gouging.
That's when the seed was planted for Laboratorysupplies.ca . Years in the lab honed my skills not only in research, but also in talking to vendors and negotiating advantageous prices. After graduation, I decided to put those skills to use for my fellow researchers as a hobby.
I scoured the market, reaching out to manufacturers abroad. My goal? To find that golden middle ground – high-quality lab supplies that wouldn't break the bank.
Today, Lab Supplies may be a one-man show, but I'm proud of the partnerships I've built. I currently work with a top Chinese supplier specializing in lab equipment, and I'm dedicated to bringing the fruits of those strong relationships to North America.
Right now, the selection may not be vast, but every single product on my virtual shelves has been meticulously vetted for quality/value. I believe in continuous improvement, and your feedback is invaluable. If something isn't meeting your expectations, let me know! My ultimate goal is to ensure research isn't hindered by cost. Let's all focus on what matters most – publishing groundbreaking discoveries and pushing the boundaries of knowledge. As a community, we can make science accessible, affordable, and most importantly, a little less frustrating.
